I’ve been going to Balanced Movement for over a year and a half, and it has truly been life-changing. I initially started with just one class a week to help with chronic hip pain following the birth of my son. I wasn’t someone who ever considered myself athletic or particularly confident in my body, but yoga at Balanced Movement changed that.
The instructors are knowledgeable, uplifting, and deeply supportive. Each one brings something unique to their classes, but they all share a genuine commitment to creating a welcoming, inclusive space. I always feel seen and encouraged, no matter where I am in my practice.
What started as a way to manage pain has grown into a regular and essential part of my life; I now go at least five times a week, often more. The classes vary in style and intensity, which keeps things fresh and allows me to explore movement in ways I never thought I would. I feel stronger, more grounded, and much more connected to my body.
Balanced Movement is more than just a studio; it’s a community. I’m so grateful I found it. -

I really do love this place. So much space, with both a non-heated and a heated room!
I’ve taken Jam’s 6am morning class and Heather’s afternoon classes. Jam offers a gentle and accessible challenge to start the day. Every time I finish Heather’s class, I realize I’ve tried something new or done something I didn’t know I could do before.
I weighed in this morning at 413 lbs. Yoga for me has been about a weight loss journey, but I think what I love most about this place (apart from the kind, encouraging, safe community) is the psychological shift I am finding in myself. I’m not one who normally “hears” my body, or is very aware of how I feel, but this place gives me the space to discover those things within myself. Heather spoke in today’s class about “becoming aware of your body’s reaction to movement and your reaction to your body.” The continual rediscovery of myself, my body, and what I CAN do has increased my confidence, gratitude, self-compassion, and motivation for health in all facets.
I feel known and encouraged to accept where I am, who I am, while stirring excitement for challenges and discovering new movements. Maybe you’re looking for that too.
There are also other teachers, community events, special workshops, and so much more. I highly recommend this place! -

Being a member at Balanced Movement is a truly great experience! All of the instructors are compassionate and helpful to master poses and get the most out of your practice. No class is the same and each instructor, in barre or yoga, adds their own fun and flair to each class, so there is never a dull moment or repetitive feel. The community the Balanced Movement team has built is unmatched and I strongly recommend giving the wide variety of classes they offer a try!

Balanced movement was a beautiful haven to have this summer for the past three months. It’s an enthusiastic community of instructors and students of all levels of experience. Heather, especially, and her Vinyasa Flow is one to try and learn from. The studio is extremely well decorated, stocked up, and clean, making it a really relaxing place to spend afternoons and weekends. Would recommend to anyone thinking about starting yoga as a beginner!
